We are so blessed to live here in the Bay Area. I recently came back from Seattle and it was snowing when I arrived and when I left! Black ice, icicles...no we have it really nice here. It is not just our weather that is a pleasure, our real estate market is an oasis in the middle of a desert. People are still buying homes in San Mateo county and prices have not slipped like they have in other areas. Median prices have stayed pretty steady from 2009 to 2010; the difference is you get a nicer home today for the same amount of money. Sooo, if you have been on the fence, home affordability is the best it has been in a long time. Interest rates are low and prices are flexible. Rentals have surged upward in price. This morning I heard two examples of rentals that shot up $300 a month from 2009's prices. So, investment property is another option for those of you who would like your real estate to work for you.
